Now, let’s dive into a day in the life of our incredible Software QA Analyst—an unsung hero behind every smooth transaction and glitch-free experience.
Her day begins bright and early at 5:00 AM with a prayer to set a positive tone. By 6:30 AM, she’s on the move, timing her departure to beat Lagos traffic. For her, every minute saved on the road means more time to dedicate to her work at Zest.
Once she arrives at the office, she gets straight to work. The first task? Checking emails for updates, flagged issues, or system alerts. This quick scan ensures she’s aware of any new challenges before diving into test scripts to verify that the platform is performing as expected.
At 9:00 AM, the team gathers for a standup meeting—a vital ritual for sharing progress, tackling blockers, and coordinating efforts. With priorities set, she grabs her trusty Fabi biscuit and gets ready for the day’s testing marathon.
The bulk of her day is dedicated to rigorous testing. She thoroughly examines every ticket to ensure features perform flawlessly and bugs are eliminated. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that Zest’s products consistently deliver on their promises.
As the team develops new features or tweaks existing ones, she updates test scripts to reflect these changes. Keeping these scripts current streamlines the testing process and prepares the groundwork for automation—an essential part of optimising workflows.
QA is more than just testing—it’s about teamwork. Whether it’s clarifying ticket details with developers, collaborating on feature requirements, or addressing user feedback, she ensures everyone is aligned toward delivering a seamless product.
At 2:00 PM, it’s time for a well-deserved break. She either enjoys a homemade meal reheated in the office cafeteria or indulges in a Glovo delivery. This pause allows her to recharge and return to work with renewed energy.
As the workday winds down, she reviews her progress, ensuring all tasks are completed or noted for follow-up. Afterwards, it’s time to head home. Evenings are for unwinding—cooking, reflecting on the day, and preparing for the next.
