Meet Angel Afube, our Solution Architect for Frontend Engineering—where creativity meets precision.

Angel’s day begins at 4:30 AM—before the world fully wakes up. The first moments are sacred: prayer and reflection help her center her mind and spirit, setting the right tone for the day. This is followed by a quick workout, keeping her energy levels high and her heart active. Then, it’s time to get ready and head out to the office.

Once she arrives, Angel sets out her focused to-do list, ensuring she has clear goals for the day. The team syncs up during the daily stand-up, aligning on priorities and tackling any blockers. With the agenda set, it’s time for breakfast and then straight into work mode.

Angel’s core responsibility is writing efficient frontend code—building interfaces that deliver smooth, intuitive interactions. Every line of code matters. She ensures that features function optimally by debugging issues, reviewing code, and collaborating with tech partners to integrate new solutions seamlessly.

But her role extends beyond coding. As a Technical Writer, Angel is also responsible for creating API documentation, integration guides, and manuals. Her work ensures that both developers and non-technical users can easily understand and utilize Zest’s technology.

By midday, it’s time for a well-deserved lunch break—a reset before diving back into problem-solving, coding, and technical documentation.

When she’s not writing code, Angel is embracing new experiences. She actively engages with her girl community, whether online or in person, fostering connections and sharing knowledge. Tech events are another favorite—expanding her understanding of the industry and keeping up with the latest innovations.

She’s also a passionate writer, sharing insights on the technologies she’s learning and reviewing great books on her Medium blog. And, of course, quality time with friends and family is a non-negotiable priority.

Angel is always evolving. She continuously explores new frontend frameworks, deepens her expertise in technical documentation, and sharpens her software engineering skills. For her, growth is a daily commitment.
